Blustery, Cold (for June) restart of 10k training with three weeks to go! Eek!

I have struggled to do a morning run even when I set everything up so all I have to do is get out of bed, put running gear on and go out.
I did achieve getting up on Saturday but unfortunately my daughter woke up and that killed my opportunity and I then back into the rut of demotivation.

That fact there is photos mean I did succeed this time - 3.5 miles.

Below is the 2nd part of a three-field public footpath and you can see the wind's effect on the grass.

Below is the final part and because of the recent heavy storms, the crops had been bashed into each other, resulting in me having to force my way along it - 100metres done in 5 minutes!  Could have done with a machete!

Having got through looking back this struck me as a nice shot of the the footpath.

There are not many noticeable hills/undulations near to where I live but this is one going downhill.

And this winds it way upwards - I have been known to do circuits of this sections in order to get some "hill" work in.

My final photo was an attempt to show the field moving like the sea as a result of the open breeze across it.

Short early run, eventually

So this morning I managed to get out of bed (and not climb back in) at 5.45am but both the body and brain took a while to recover from the shock, and it was twenty minutes later before I was dressed and ready to do a run.

A nice easy short two miler was done, some it along a public footpath - I will re-do that bit again and take some photos next time as it was very nice and picturesque.

But getting up at 5.45am was an achievement because it is only at these times I can fit in a run mid-week these days, and doing these makes it easier to then do the weekend running.

Race Day Part Two

Early after the aid station was this church - whilst I am not religious I do like church buildings.

A great Gate entrance to a picturesque building.

This is the iconic race to the stones photo that I have recreated - sort of terrain I have trained for, and it was good fun to run.  Ironically I couldn't get a mobile signal at the aid station to give an update (to go on my Facebook page) but I could here.

The bunting was for a village in bloom type event.

Shortly after the bunting, we crossed some nice smooth well cut grass, to then suddenly hear "Four" as a golf ball heads in our direction - fortunately, they were amateur golfers......

There was a technical section that was narrow and tended to have tree roots under foot.  Tough but great to do.

The maps were regular on the Ridgway and show how well people are encouraged to use this national trail.

The building was a water mill - you could hear but not see the mill itself as the water rushed through it into the river.

The second aid station where I grabbed a packet of cheese and onion crisps and a mars bar.
